UNICO 5G Cybersecurity

5G networks have comparative advantages in terms of security over previous generations. However, they also present specific risks arising, for example, from their more complex network structure, their ability to transform huge volumes of information and allow the simultaneous interaction of multiple people and things.

Interconnection with other networks and the transnational nature of numerous threats affect their security, and the foreseeable widespread use of these networks for functions essential to the economy and society will increase the potential impact of security incidents.

The UNICO 5G Cybersecurity Program foresees the creation of a public center to ensure compliance with the requirements, including certification, derived from the 5G Cybersecurity Act, which in turn implements the "European Union Toolbox for 5G Network Security", covering the needs left by the situation contemplated above.
