UNICO Broadband Access

UNICO Broadband Access is based on the desire of the UNICO Broadband Program calls to become a vector for territorial structuring and social cohesion. The objective of this action is to guarantee symmetrical speeds of 300 Mbps, upgradeable to symmetrical speeds of 1 Gbps (gigabit per second) in areas without broadband coverage (white and gray areas).

In the call published for 2022, up to 250 million euros will be awarded, with conditions like those for 2021. Following the public consultation to identify the areas eligible for support, the final areas that will be the subject of the 2022 call have been published.

For the 2023 call it is planned to allocate more than 200 M€ and, after seeing the results of the 2022 call, to assess whether it is appropriate to review the current approach to ensure a greater impact on all the remaining population areas without coverage in line with the new European broadband guidelines that are expected to be published in 2022.
