GobTechLab (Citizen Laboratory for Technological Innovation in the Administration)

GobTechLab aims to set up an innovation laboratory of the General State Administration to improve the experience in the use of digital public services through citizen participation, co-creation, and innovation in public services.

It also proposes the development of an open space for collaboration where public services can be experimented with by citizens and companies, where their opinions can be gathered, suggestions received, etc. The main areas of application will be emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and blockchain.

It will also pursue the creation of personalized and innovative public services that can be framed within European actions, participating with EU Member States in projects such as the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), a blockchain network that will allow public services to be securely provided throughout the European Union, or in proposals related to data and artificial intelligence.

Finally, through a startup launcher, GobTechLab will promote a response to the challenges of modernizing the General State Administration.

The laboratory is one of the measures included in the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and is also part of the Public Administration Digitalization Plan 2021-2025.
