Digitalization of the education system

Having met the objective of the Educa en Digital program, its scope is now being expanded with the Education System Digitalization Program, #EcoDigEdu, endowed with 989 million euros.

This program adds 300,000 additional devices to those already distributed and substantially improves the connectivity of the centers before 2026. It also improves the digital endowments of the classrooms of the educational centers, with the installation and update before 2026 of the interactive digital systems of 240,200 classrooms in Pre-school, Primary and/or Compulsory Secondary Education, as well as Special Education centers.

On the other hand, the Program for the improvement of the digital competence of the educational system #CompDigEdu, endowed with 301 million euros, is aimed at training in digital competences for at least 700,000 teachers and the review of the digital strategies of at least 22,000 public or publicly funded centers.

In addition, digital and programming skills have been included in the curricula of the compulsory stages, which will now be reinforced with the preparation of materials to guide and support teachers in the teaching of digital skills.
